Business Development Manager - City Law Firm - London / Hybrid Working - £50k-£70k (Dependent on Experience) + benefits

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Senior Executive or Manager, with experience in a similar role ideally within a law firm, to join the Business Development & Marketing team of a leading City law firm.

The Business Development Manager will help groups with their plans to grow existing clients and develop new client relationships. The role will require significant interaction with partners, lawyers and other business services teams, so suitable candidates will need to have exceptional communication skills as well as a marketing/communications mindset, strong research capabilities and demonstrable experience in devising and executing business development and marketing plans.

This role would suit a BD Senior Executive looking to step up into a Manager role or a recent BD Manager looking for a new challenge.

Key responsibilities as the Law Firm Business Development Manager will include:

  • Working with key stakeholders to manage business development and marketing plans
  • Managing prospective client targeting and client development
  • Undertaking market analysis and research and providing analysis on trends, fees and cross-selling opportunities
  • Delivering pitches and responses to RFPs
  • Drafting tender documentation
  • Undertaking post-pitch debrief and analysis
  • Managing campaign-focussed marketing communications, event management and internal comms

What we’re looking for:

  • Business development marketing experience within a professional services organisation, ideally a legal firm
  • Good academics - a degree / marketing qualification is beneficial
  • Experienced in undertaking a diverse set of business development and marketing activities
  • Proposal research and production experience
  • Ability to communicate at all levels - both written and spoken
  • Impeccable organisation and attention to detail
  • IT literate including MS Office (essential), Adobe InDesign (desirable) and database management
  • Professional, proactive, creative and enthusiastic team player
